AWS Organizations Adds Account State Information
AWS Organizations now provides a new 'State' field in its Console and APIs to offer more granular visibility into the lifecycle of member accounts. This enhancement replaces the older 'Status' field, offering states like 'SUSPENDED' and 'PENDING_CLOSURE'. While both fields will coexist in APIs until September 9, 2026, customers should update account management pipelines to use the 'State' field before the 'Status' field is fully deprecated.
