AWS has published the AWS Security Reference Architecture (AWS SRA) PCI DSS Deep Dive guide. This new resource offers prescriptive, architecture-level guidance for organizations handling cardholder data on AWS, addressing the challenge of aligning general AWS security with specific PCI DSS requirements. It extends the core AWS SRA by mapping account types to PCI DSS scoping boundaries and layering PCI-specific controls onto existing service configurations. The guide targets security architects, compliance engineers, cloud platform teams, and auditors responsible for designing and assessing PCI DSS compliant environments.
