Azure D/E v7 Series VMs Now Generally Available with 248 and 372 vCPU Options
Azure has announced the general availability of new 248 and 372 vCPU sizes for its Dl/D/E v7 series Virtual Machines, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors. These general-purpose and memory-optimized VMs offer up to 20% better compute performance compared to prior-generation v6 VMs, alongside significant gains in scale, networking, and storage. The larger configurations support demanding workloads such as in-memory databases, large context window AI applications, and low-latency systems. They are currently available in select Azure regions including Central US, East US, and West US 2.

Azure has made its 248 and 372 vCPU Dl/D/E v7 VM sizes generally available, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors. These VMs provide up to 20% better compute performance than previous v6 VMs, scaling to 372 vCPUs and 2.8 TiB of memory for large in-memory databases, agentic AI workloads, and lower-latency applications. They also offer up to 400 Gbps networking bandwidth, 800k IOPS and 20 GBps remote storage throughput, and 9.6M IOPS and 53 GBps local NVMe temp disk throughput.
