Azure Front Door now offers public preview support for mutual TLS, also known as client certificate authentication. This capability allows Azure Front Door to authenticate clients using X.509 certificates at the edge before requests reach the application. It significantly enhances security for sensitive applications and APIs across various sectors, including financial services and enterprise networks. Customers can choose from four distinct client certificate validation modes and manage trusted certificate authority chains via Azure Key Vault.

  • Mutual TLS Support for Azure Front Door

    Azure Front Door now supports mutual TLS (client certificate authentication) in public preview, allowing clients to be authenticated using X.509 certificates before their requests reach the application. This feature enhances security for sensitive applications and APIs, protecting various business scenarios like B2B, IoT, and financial services. It integrates with Azure Key Vault for managing trusted certificate authority chains associated with custom domains.
