feature announcement

Azure Key Vault Premium now offers symmetric key support in public preview, enabling customers to evaluate symmetric encryption using the oct-HSM key type and AES algorithm. This allows for encrypting, decrypting, wrapping, and unwrapping data while benefiting from Azure-managed security and compliance. The use of AES-256 keys aligns with CNSA 2.0 requirements, aiding in post-quantum cryptography readiness. While Azure portal support is rolling out, users can manage oct-HSM symmetric keys via Azure CLI and ARM templates during the preview.
