Azure Functions Linux Consumption Plan Retiring Sept 30, 2028
The Linux Consumption hosting plan for Azure Functions will be retired on September 30, 2028. Customers should migrate to the Flex Consumption plan to leverage its enhanced features. Affected resources can be identified in the Azure portal, and Microsoft will provide migration assistance.

The Linux Consumption hosting plan for Azure Functions is being retired and will be fully unsupported after September 30, 2028. Users are encouraged to migrate to the Flex Consumption plan.

- Migration timeline and actions
After September 30, 2025, the Linux Consumption plan will be removed from Azure management tools but still manageable via IaC and CLI. Full retirement occurs September 30, 2028, with no technical support or ability to create new function apps.
- Identifying affected resources
Customers can identify resources using the Linux Consumption plan by checking the Azure portal for App Service plans with Pricing Tier: Dynamic (Y1: 0) and Operating System: Linux.
