Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance gain immutable backups
Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance now offer generally available immutable backups for the most recent seven days. This feature enhances data protection by preventing accidental or malicious deletion or modification of backup data. It is now available to all Azure customers in production environments.

AI-powered discovery of Azure Updates is now enabled through the Microsoft Release Communications MCP server. This system provides the latest information on Azure products and features to help manage cloud investments. Users can subscribe to notifications for continuous updates.

Azure Updates are available in various stages: 'In development' is for limited customer testing in non-production environments, 'In preview' is for all customers in non-production environments, and 'Launched' signifies a fully released, production-ready product available to all customers.
