Cloud Service Mesh Features to be Deprecated March 2027

Google Cloud is announcing the deprecation of several Cloud Service Mesh (CSM) features. Support for GKE on AWS, GKE on Azure, EKS Attached Clusters on AWS, and Azure Attached Clusters with AKS will end on March 17, 2027. Users must migrate to an alternative service mesh solution or an alternative Istio-based solution before this date. This deprecation does not affect other features of GKE attached clusters or Google Distributed Cloud.
