The Looker extension for VS Code has reached general availability, empowering developers with local LookML development and AI-assisted "vibe coding" through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This release introduces an interactive onboarding guide, support for populating workspaces from bare repositories, and enhanced synchronization between local Git branches and Looker Development Mode. Additional improvements include OAuth support for the Kiro IDE and more secure API client secret storage. These updates aim to streamline LookML development workflows for engineers using VS Code.
