Amazon DocumentDB now supports retryable writes for enhanced application resilience
Amazon DocumentDB (with MongoDB compatibility) now supports retryable writes, starting with engine version 8.0.2. This enhancement significantly improves application resilience by allowing MongoDB drivers to automatically retry certain write operations once during transient errors like network disruptions or failovers. Developers of MongoDB-compatible applications can benefit from this without additional code changes, as most current drivers enable retryable writes by default. This capability is available for instance-based and serverless clusters in all regions where DocumentDB 8.0 is offered, though it excludes `updateMany`, `deleteMany`, and transaction commit/abort commands.
