Amazon EC2 I8g instances now in Paris and Jakarta regions

AWS EC2 I8g instances, powered by Graviton4 processors and new Nitro SSDs, are now generally available in the Paris and Jakarta regions. These instances offer improved storage performance and lower latency for storage-intensive workloads, benefiting users running databases, real-time analytics, and AI/ML pre-processing. They feature up to 45 TB of local NVMe storage and come in eleven sizes, including metal options.

  • EC2 I8g instances with Graviton4 processors now available in new regions

    Amazon EC2 Storage Optimized I8g instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, are now generally available in the AWS Europe (Paris) and Asia Pacific (Jakarta) regions. These instances are designed for storage-intensive and I/O-intensive workloads.

    The I8g instances utilize third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs, delivering up to 65% better real-time storage performance per TB. They also offer up to 50% lower storage I/O latency and up to 60% lower latency variability compared to I4g instances.

    Available in eleven sizes, including metal options, I8g instances offer up to 1.5 TiB of memory and 45 TB of local NVMe storage. They are suitable for transactional databases, real-time analytics platforms, data lakehouses, and AI/LLM pre-processing.
