Amazon GameLift Servers adds 21 EC2 instance types
Amazon GameLift Servers now supports 21 new EC2 instance types for managed fleets, including compute-optimized C-series and general-purpose M-series families. This expansion provides game developers greater flexibility to choose between x86 and Arm architectures and various processors to optimize cost and performance for their game server workloads. These instance types are now available in most AWS regions.

Amazon GameLift Servers now supports 21 additional Amazon EC2 instance types, including compute-optimized C-series and general-purpose M-series families. This allows for greater flexibility in choosing optimized hardware for game server workloads.

Customers can now select from x86 and Arm architectures, leveraging 5th-generation AMD EPYC, custom Intel Xeon 6, or AWS Graviton5 processors. This enables optimization for performance, cost, and engine compatibility across different game server needs.

The new instance types are available in most Amazon GameLift Servers supported regions, excluding AWS China. Specific use cases include running CPU-intensive logic on C-series instances and cost-effective scaling with Graviton5-powered M9g instances.
