Amazon ECS adds built-in blue/green, linear, and canary deployment strategies for VPC Lattice
Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) now offers native support for blue/green, linear, and canary deployment strategies for services integrated with Amazon VPC Lattice. This enhancement allows ECS customers leveraging VPC Lattice for service communication to implement managed traffic shifting during updates. Engineers can control traffic movement based on confidence in each release, validate new versions with test traffic, and integrate custom validation steps or manual approvals. The feature also supports automatic rollbacks via Amazon CloudWatch alarms and the ECS deployment circuit breaker.
