AWS Lambda Durable Functions Now Available in AWS European Sovereign Cloud
AWS Lambda durable functions are now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, enabling developers to build reliable multi-step applications and AI workflows. This feature extends the Lambda programming model with primitives such as "step" and "wait" to checkpoint progress, automatically recover from failures, and pause executions without compute charges. Customers can now orchestrate complex processes like order workflows and AI-assisted tasks while meeting regional compliance and security requirements. Durable functions can be activated for Python (3.13, 3.14), Node.js (22, 24), and Java (17+) Lambda functions via API, Console, SDK, or IaC tools.
