Amazon RDS/Aurora add Graviton4 R8g instances in more regions, M8g instances wider
AWS Graviton4-based R8g instances are now generally available for Amazon RDS and Aurora, and M8g instances have expanded availability for RDS. These Graviton4 instances offer significant performance and price/performance improvements over previous generations. They are available through the RDS console and AWS CLI, with detailed engine version support in the documentation.

AWS Graviton4-based R8g database instances are now generally available for Amazon Aurora (MySQL and PostgreSQL compatibility) and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB in several new AWS Regions across Asia Pacific, Europe, GovCloud, South America, and Mexico.

M8g instances are now supported for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB in additional regions across Asia Pacific, Canada, Europe, South America, and Africa.

- Graviton4 instances offer performance and price improvements
AWS Graviton4-based R8g instances provide up to 40% performance improvement and up to 29% price/performance improvement over Graviton3 instances. R8g instances feature up to 192 vCPUs, an 8:1 memory-to-vCPU ratio with DDR5 memory, and enhanced networking capabilities.
