Amazon RDS for Oracle Adds Support for July 2026 Supplemental Patch Bundle
Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports the Supplemental Patch Bundle (SPB) for the July 2026 Release Update, compatible with Oracle Database 19c and 26ai. The SPB, formerly known as the Oracle Spatial Patch Bundle, provides essential database patches for specialized use cases like Oracle Spatial, Data Pump, and GoldenGate. Users can apply this update to new instances or upgrade existing ones through the AWS Console, selecting specific engine versions. Additionally, AWS Organizations can be leveraged for automated, staggered minor version upgrades, ensuring controlled rollout.
