AWS ARC Region Switch Adds Aurora Scaling and Neptune Failover
Amazon Application Recovery Controller's Region switch now automates scaling and failover for Aurora and Neptune global databases. This feature reduces recovery time by eliminating manual database resizing and complex failover scripting during a regional outage. These new execution blocks are available now and support cross-account orchestration. This enhancement is primarily for engineers and architects managing multi-region database deployments.
- →Automate Aurora database scaling during regional failover
- →Automate Amazon Neptune global database failover
- →Cross-account orchestration support for database operations
Features (2) ›
- Automate Aurora database scaling during regional failover
New execution blocks for Amazon Aurora serverless and provisioned scaling automate the right-sizing and scaling of secondary clusters during a Region switch. This ensures the secondary cluster is ready for production traffic immediately after failover, reducing recovery time.
- Automate Amazon Neptune global database failover
A new execution block automates both planned switchover and unplanned failover scenarios for Amazon Neptune global databases within a single Region switch plan. This eliminates the need for custom scripting during recovery incidents.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Cross-account orchestration support for database operations
All three new execution blocks support cross-account orchestration. This allows a single Region switch plan to coordinate database operations across multiple AWS accounts and regions.
