Enhancements (1)
  • EBS volume recommendations now use additional performance metrics

AWS Compute Optimizer now analyzes VolumeIOPSExceededCheck and VolumeThroughputExceededCheck CloudWatch metrics. This provides improved visibility into IOPS and throughput spikes for EBS volume rightsizing recommendations.

Notes (1)
  • Availability and cost of new metrics

This enhancement is available in all AWS Regions except GovCloud (US) and China. The CloudWatch metrics are free for EBS volumes attached to Nitro-based EC2 instances, excluding standard and Multi-Attach enabled volumes.
