AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Introduces Recovery Plans for Orchestrated Application Recovery
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) now introduces Recovery Plans, automating the sequential launch of multi-server applications during recovery and drills. This new capability allows users to define recovery sequences once, eliminating manual tracking of server dependencies and ensuring predictable, consistent application recovery. It significantly reduces recovery time and common errors, especially for complex applications composed of databases and various service tiers requiring a specific startup order. Recovery Plans are available at no additional cost in all AWS DRS regions, supporting non-disruptive drills and configurable approval steps.
