AWS IAM Identity Center simplifies multi-Region setup for new instances

AWS IAM Identity Center now offers a one-click option to enable multi-Region support when creating new organization instances. This change simplifies a previously multi-step process, automatically configuring a KMS key and replicating the instance to an additional Region for improved resilience. The feature is available for new organization instances in 17 commercial AWS Regions and provides resilient access to AWS accounts.

    Customers creating new IAM Identity Center organization instances can now enable multi-Region support with a single click. This option automatically provisions a customer-managed multi-Region KMS key and replicates the instance to an additional Region, enhancing resilience.

    New IAM Identity Center organization instances can be configured as single-Region, multi-Region, or custom instances. The multi-Region option offers automated setup, while the custom option allows for individual Region settings and the use of existing KMS keys.

    The multi-Region instance option is available in 17 enabled-by-default commercial AWS Regions. Standard AWS KMS charges apply for the customer-managed key created, but IAM Identity Center itself remains free.
