feature

AWS Parallel Computing Service (AWS PCS) has launched a production-ready Deep Learning AMI (DLAMI) built on the Deep Learning Base GPU AMI. This AMI simplifies AI/ML training and HPC by pre-installing core infrastructure components like the PCS Agent and Slurm, making it easier to build and scale environments. It is available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where PCS is available and supports both x86_64 and arm64 architectures.

  • Production-ready Deep Learning AMI launched for AWS PCS
  • AMI inherits from base DLAMI and adds PCS-specific components

Features (1)
  • Production-ready Deep Learning AMI launched for AWS PCS

AWS PCS now provides a production-ready Deep Learning AMI (DLAMI) based on the Deep Learning Base GPU AMI, pre-installing PCS Agent, Slurm, and EFS utilities for AI/ML training and HPC workloads. This AMI simplifies the setup of elastic environments by integrating compute, storage, and networking with managed updates and observability.

Notes (2)
  • AMI inherits from base DLAMI and adds PCS-specific components

The PCS-ready DLAMI inherits the OS, NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, EFA drivers, and Lustre client from the source DLAMI. It includes PCS Agent, Slurm for PCS, and EFS utilities, with automatic activation of supported Slurm versions based on cluster configuration.

  • Continuous updates and availability

AWS releases updated AMIs regularly to incorporate security patches and driver updates from the source DLAMI and PCS components. The PCS-ready DLAMI is available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where AWS PCS is supported, for both x86_64 and arm64 architectures.
