AWS to acquire DuckLabs, the company behind open-source analytical database DuckDB

Amazon has signed a definitive agreement to acquire DuckLabs, the Amsterdam-based company known for the open-source analytical database, DuckDB. The co-founders, Hannes Mühleisen and Mark Raasveldt, will continue to lead the project's technical direction as part of AWS. The DuckDB open-source project will remain under its independent Foundation, retaining its MIT license. The transaction is expected to close shortly, subject to customary closing conditions.
