Azure Dedicated HSM to Retire in July 2028
Microsoft is announcing the planned retirement of Azure Dedicated HSM, which will be succeeded by Azure Cloud HSM. Existing customers will receive full support until July 31, 2028, with encouragement to migrate to Azure Cloud HSM or Azure Managed HSM. New customer onboardings to Azure Dedicated HSM are no longer accepted, effective immediately.

Azure Dedicated HSM is planned for retirement on July 31, 2028. Azure Cloud HSM will serve as its successor, offering enhanced integration, operational efficiency, and scalability with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification.
- Transition Timeline and New Customer Onboarding
Full support for existing Azure Dedicated HSM customers extends until July 31, 2028. New customer onboardings to Azure Dedicated HSM are no longer permitted, with new users directed to Azure Cloud HSM, Azure Managed HSM, or Azure Key Vault.
