Databricks Identity Attributes in Beta for Unity Catalog ABAC Policies
Databricks has launched Identity attributes in Beta, allowing account users to store up to nine attributes sourced from their identity provider, such as title or department. These attributes can be referenced in Unity Catalog ABAC column-masking policies, enhancing fine-grained access control. Account administrators can provision these attributes using automatic identity management or account SCIM 2.1. An Identity Attribute Control List governs which attributes can be written.

- Store IdP-sourced attributes for Unity Catalog ABAC
Databricks now supports storing up to nine identity provider-sourced attributes like title or department on account users. These attributes can be utilized within Unity Catalog ABAC column-masking policies, enabling more granular access control. Account administrators manage attribute provisioning via SCIM 2.1 and control attribute writing with an Identity Attribute Control List.
