GitHub Copilot can now utilize a broader range of conversational context in Slack and Microsoft Teams, including supported Slack files, attachments, message links, inline Teams images, forwarded messages, and channel history. It also checks for similar issues before creating new ones, includes direct links to resulting work, and maintains links back to originating conversations for improved traceability.

Users now have more control over Copilot's behavior, with the ability to switch AI models for the next message and retain that choice throughout a conversation. Additionally, Slack users can set default owners and repositories, simplifying the process of keeping work organized across different repositories and shared discussions.
