Amazon Aurora Serverless Scales Faster for Bursty Workloads
Amazon Aurora Serverless now scales up to 256 ACUs in seconds, with initial capacity reaching 12 ACUs within one second. This enhancement is crucial for agentic AI and other workloads with unpredictable traffic patterns, ensuring responsiveness and efficient resource utilization. Amazon Aurora Serverless now delivers higher initial capacity, reaching up to 12 ACUs within a second and scaling up to 256 ACUs. This is particularly beneficial for workloads with bursts of activity, long idle windows, and unpredictable traffic patterns.

- Enabled by default on newer platform versions
This enhancement is enabled by default on all Aurora Serverless clusters running on platform version 3 or 4, requiring no configuration changes. Existing clusters on platform versions 1 and 2 can upgrade to version 4.
