Features (2)
  • EC2 C7i instances now in Milan and Calgary regions

Amazon EC2 C7i instances, powered by custom 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, have expanded their availability to the Europe (Milan) and Canada West (Calgary) regions. These instances are designed for compute-intensive workloads and offer improved performance and price-performance.

  • Larger instance sizes and bare metal options with accelerators

C7i instances now include larger instance sizes up to 48xlarge and two bare metal sizes (metal-24xl, metal-48xl). These bare-metal options incorporate built-in Intel accelerators for data operations and performance optimization.

Enhancements (1)
  • Improved performance and price-performance for C7i instances

The C7i instances offer up to 15% better performance over comparable x86-based Intel processors used by other cloud providers and up to 15% better price-performance than C6i instances. They are well-suited for workloads like batch processing, distributed analytics, ad-serving, and video encoding.
