Amazon EC2 C8i instances expand to Stockholm region

    Amazon EC2 C8i instances, powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, have been launched in the Europe (Stockholm) region. These instances provide enhanced performance and memory bandwidth for memory-intensive workloads, with up to 20% higher performance than C7i instances.

  • Expanded instance sizes and bare metal options

    C8i instances are available in 13 sizes, including two bare metal options and a new 96xlarge size for demanding applications. These instances are ideal for memory-intensive workloads and those requiring high CPU utilization.

    The new C8i instances deliver up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth compared to previous generation Intel-based instances. They also show significant performance gains for specific workloads like NGINX, AI recommendation models, and Memcached.
