Features (1)
  • EC2 R6in and R6idn instances available in Europe (Paris) and Canada (Central)

Amazon EC2 R6in and R6idn instances have been launched in the AWS Europe (Paris) and Canada (Central) regions. These instances are optimized for network performance, offering up to 200Gbps of network bandwidth and enhanced packet-processing capabilities powered by 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors.

Enhancements (3)
  • Enhanced performance for network-intensive workloads

These instances are designed for memory-intensive SQL and NoSQL databases, distributed web-scale in-memory caches, in-memory databases like SAP HANA, and real-time big data analytics. They provide up to 2x higher network bandwidth and packet-processing performance compared to fifth-generation instances.

  • Variety of instance sizes and configurations

R6in and R6idn instances are offered in 10 sizes, including metal configurations, with up to 128 vCPUs and 1024 GiB of memory. They support up to 100 Gbps of Amazon EBS bandwidth and up to 400K IOPS, with Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) available on 32xlarge and metal sizes. R6idn instances include up to 7.6 TB of high-speed instance storage.

  • Expanded regional availability

With this expansion, R6in and R6idn instances are now available in multiple regions across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and AWS GovCloud (US-West). Customers can procure these instances using Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, On-Demand, and Spot instances.
