The new instances are available in 24xlarge and 48xlarge sizes and are currently deployed in three AWS regions.

  • M9g instances with Graviton5 processors now available for RDS
  • New 24xlarge and 48xlarge instance sizes introduced
  • M9g instances provide significant performance and price improvements
  • M9g instances available in select AWS regions
Features (2)
  • M9g instances with Graviton5 processors now available for RDS

Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB now supports M9g database instances, which use AWS Graviton5 processors. These instances offer improved performance and price/performance compared to previous Graviton generations.

  • New 24xlarge and 48xlarge instance sizes introduced

M9g DB instances are available in new 24xlarge and 48xlarge configurations. These larger sizes provide substantial resources, including up to 192 vCPUs, 100Gbps of enhanced networking, and 72Gbps to Amazon EBS.

Enhancements (1)
  • M9g instances provide significant performance and price improvements

Graviton5-based M9g instances deliver up to a 30% performance boost and up to a 23% price/performance advantage over comparable Graviton4 instances. These improvements are dependent on the database engine, version, and workload.

Notes (1)
  • M9g instances available in select AWS regions

M9g DB instances are currently available in the US East (N. Virginia, Ohio) and US West (Oregon) regions, as well as the Europe (Frankfurt) Region.
