Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server adds latest CU/GDR updates
Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server now supports the latest Cumulative Updates and General Distribution Releases, including versions for SQL Server 2019 and 2022. This enhancement allows users to easily apply critical security patches and performance improvements to their database instances. The updates are available for all RDS Custom for SQL Server users and can be applied via the AWS Management Console, SDK, or CLI.

- Support for latest Microsoft SQL Server CU and GDR updates
Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server now supports SQL Server 2019 CU32+GDR and SQL Server 2022 CU25. These updates include security fixes, addressing vulnerabilities such as CVE-2026-40370. Customers can upgrade their instances through the AWS Management Console, SDK, or CLI.
