Amazon RDS for MySQL Announces Extended Support Minor Versions for 5.7 and 8.0
Amazon RDS for MySQL has released Extended Support minor versions 5.7.44-rds.20260902 and 8.0.46-rds.20260908. This program provides up to three additional years of critical CVE and bug fixes beyond a major version's standard end-of-support date. This extension grants users more time to plan and execute upgrades to newer major versions, affecting those running MySQL 5.7 and 8.0 on RDS. Customers can upgrade using RDS Blue/Green Deployments, in-place upgrades, or snapshot restores, with further migration options to MySQL 8.4 via AWS Database Migration Service.
