CloudWatch Network Monitor Adds NHI for Transit Gateway Inter-Region Peering
Amazon CloudWatch Network Monitor now offers its Network Health Indicator (NHI) for hybrid network paths that use AWS Transit Gateway inter-Region peering connections. This enhancement enables network operators and application developers to rapidly determine if network degradation originates within the AWS network. The new capability helps reduce troubleshooting time for hybrid architectures, extending a feature previously available only for AWS Direct Connect paths. NHI metrics for these paths are sent to CloudWatch, allowing users to build dashboards and set alarms.

Amazon CloudWatch Network Monitor now provides its Network Health Indicator (NHI) for paths reaching destinations across AWS Transit Gateway inter-Region peering connections. This allows network operators and application developers to quickly diagnose if observed network degradation for hybrid architectures is within the AWS network, mirroring functionality previously limited to AWS Direct Connect paths.
