Databricks ABAC Extends to Views for Enhanced Data Access Control

Databricks has extended Attribute-based Access Control (ABAC) row filters and column masks to views, in addition to tables. This enhancement enables granular control over sensitive data exposed through views using existing ABAC policies. Account administrators can enable this preview feature via the account console's Previews page. It requires Databricks Runtime 19 or above to function.

Databricks now supports ABAC row filters and column masks on views, allowing organizations to apply fine-grained access policies to sensitive data exposed through them. This capability is currently available in Beta and requires Databricks Runtime 19+.
