EC2 High Memory U7i instances expand to new AWS regions

Amazon EC2 has expanded the availability of its High Memory U7i instances. U7i instances, powered by Intel Sapphire Rapids processors, offer up to 24 TiB of DDR5 memory and high network/storage bandwidth. These instances are now available in the South America (São Paulo) region (16TB) and Europe (Ireland) region (24TB), targeting customers running large in-memory databases like SAP HANA.

    Amazon EC2 High Memory U7i instances are now available in additional AWS regions, with 16 TiB memory instances in South America (São Paulo) and 24 TiB memory instances in Europe (Ireland). These instances feature custom Intel Xeon Scalable processors and offer significant memory capacity for demanding workloads.

    The U7i instances, featuring 16 TiB or 24 TiB of DDR5 memory, provide 896 vCPUs and high bandwidth for EBS and networking. This aims to improve transaction processing throughput and data loading speeds for mission-critical in-memory databases such as SAP HANA, Oracle, and SQL Server.
