- EC2 R8i and R8i-flex instances now available in Stockholm and Zurich
Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i-flex instances, powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, are now available in the Europe (Stockholm, Zurich) regions. These instances offer higher performance and memory bandwidth compared to previous generations.
- R8i-flex instances for memory-intensive workloads
R8i-flex instances are designed for memory-intensive workloads, offering common sizes from large to 16xlarge. They are ideal for applications that don't fully utilize all compute resources, providing price-performance benefits.
- R8i instances for demanding memory workloads
R8i instances are suitable for all memory-intensive workloads, especially those requiring larger instance sizes or continuous high CPU usage. They come in 13 sizes, including bare metal and a new 96xlarge option, and are SAP-certified.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Improved price-performance and memory bandwidth
R8i and R8i-flex instances provide up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than comparable Intel-based instances. They offer 20% higher performance than R7i instances, with specific workloads seeing even greater gains.
